Melon Daze

 

INGREDIENTS

6 oz. Old Elk Bourbon

6 oz. Lustau Amontillado Sherry

3 oz. Cocchi Americano Vermouth (or other blanco vermouth)

3 oz. Fresh Lime Juice

24. oz. Watermelon Juice

8 Whole Blackberries

4 Sprigs Fresh Basil

Ginger Ale

 

METHOD

Cut the top part of a baby watermelon, scoop out fruit.

Blend scooped watermelon and strain out the pulp for fresh juice.

Add Old Elk Bourbon, sherry, vermouth, lime juice and watermelon juice to the hollowed out watermelon.

Top with ginger ale and stir.

Garnish with whole blackberries and fresh basil.

Serve with multiple straws or cut a small hole in the bottom of the watermelon for a dispenser.

SINGLE SERVE

In a cocktail glass with ice, combine 1 oz. Old Elk Bourbon, 1 oz. Lustau Amontillado Sherry, 0.5 oz. Cocchi Americano Vermouth, 6 oz. fresh watermelon juice, and 1/2 of a lime, fresh squeezed.

Top with Ginger Ale and garnish with 2-4 fresh blackberries and 2 sprigs of fresh basil.
